Context:
In modern IT environments, organizations are increasingly adopting hybrid infrastructure solutions that span both on-premises data centres and cloud environments. This integration allows businesses to take advantage of the scalability and flexibility of the cloud while maintaining control over critical applications in their own data centres. Automating the deployment and management of workloads across these hybrid environments is key to maintaining performance, reducing manual errors, and ensuring seamless transitions. This internship focuses on building automated solutions for such hybrid infrastructures using state-of-the-art tools and technologies.
Topic:
The focus of this project is to create an automated deployment solution that works across both on-premises and cloud environments. The intern will design and implement a CI/CD pipeline that manages workload deployment dynamically, based on cost, performance, or compliance requirements. The project will include working with tools like Jenkins and Terraform to integrate both environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. The intern will also learn to manage network latency, load balancing, and monitoring between different environments.
What you’ll be doing:
You will thus acquire knowledge on the following specialized subjects:
Design and implement an automated CI/CD pipeline for hybrid infrastructure management.
Work with tools like Jenkins and Terraform to automate the deployment and scaling of applications.
Manage the complexities of workload distribution between on-premises and cloud environments.
Monitor and ensure infrastructure performance and security compliance.
Document the project and create guides for future implementations.
Collaborate with experienced engineers and architects to develop scalable solutions.
You will be part of the “Cloud-native software development and Data” global team, composed of experienced development engineers and architects deploying technical solution and services on customer premises (Technical Services team).
During the internship, you will receive the support of a senior engineer as well as the team leader to guide you while defining the approach and milestones. You will also participate in all the team meetings and activities, which will enable you to be immersed in the professional world and to be faced with day-to-day challenges encountered in the work environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
5th year of a master's degree or equivalent.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and within a fast-moving team environment.
Previous relevant work experience (internships, part-time jobs, or first work experiences) is an asset.
Familiar with traditional development standards and concepts
Strong interest in global technology, cloud-native development, containerization, AI and automation in particular
Having knowledge of modern development language would be considered as an asset.
Fluency in spoken and written in English is mandatory, and additional languages will be an asset.
